Thermowell installation:
Topaz has the capability to install thermowells into specialized thermowell fittings on systems in service. Provide us with your thermowell specifications, and we can supply a standard thermowell fitting from stock, or design and fabricate one unique to your application. Pertinent thermowell information includes male and female thread type and size, hex dimensions, shank diameter, and overall length.

Once the thermowell fitting is welded in place, Topaz will provide a temporary valve through which we tap the vessel wall, then set the thermowell. After the thermowell is set, line pressure is sealed within the fitting and the temporary valve is removed permitting an unobstructed attachment for this instrumentation.

Spray nozzle and flowmeter installation:
In addition to thermowells, various other types of devices can be installed under pressure using similar procedures and appropriate fittings. We have engineered, fabricated, and performed the on-line installation of devices as large as 20" diameter spargers, 16 feet long (into an aromatic hydrocarbon at 450° F.). While the typical installed device is a much smaller and lighter injection nozzle or flowmeter, this large diameter insertion is an example of what can be accomplished by an experienced team using innovative techniques.
